Ruby-throated Hummingbird 

Each summer at least on pair of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds nests on or around our property. This year was no exception. I purposely plant flowers and vines that attract them around my yard and back deck.  One of their favorites, I have found, is the shrimp plant.  This one is growing in a pot on the deck. To make this image, I used two flashes set manually, fired as slaves from only 2' from the bird. I was back about 6' and waited for him to appear
