Description: 5 1/2" rich brown above, buff below with conspicuous white eyebrow  Habitat: Brushy areas, moist woodlands and swamps, suburbs, gardens, tangles, brush piles. active and curious. 
Nesting: 5 brown-spotted whitish  eggs in a feather-lined domed stick nest with an entrance on the side, nest can be placed in stone walls, hollow tree stumps, tin cans, bird houses, even coat pockets on clotheslines Range: resident of southeastern US north to Wisconsin, Michigan, New York, southern New England
Voice: loud whistled tweedle-tweedle-tweedle or tea-kettle, tea-kettle-tea-kettle-tea, sung all day long in all seasons Diet: insects, invertebrates, small vertebrates, a few seeds

Notes: uncommon cowbird host, they do not migrate, severe winters known to decimate their  numbers, loves suet
When present in Oklahoma: present year-round state-wide, sparse in panhandle
